Responsibility extends beyond Guests and Associates to the societies in which the hotels operate, and the hotels strive to integrate the hotel’s operations in to the life of the local community in a way that enriches all parties. Where available, locally produced organic products are sourced.
Project WeCan is a business-in-community programme that Wharf Hotels actively collaborates with, designed to offer care and opportunities for the less-privileged students in Hong Kong. Project WeCan was established as an open platform for business sponsors to work closely with schools through financial commitment and/or volunteering support for the benefit of their students who lack support and resources. The Programme began in 2011 with 11 secondary schools. Currently, there are 14 schools matched with 14 business sponsors through Project WeCan.
Wharf Hotels has partnered with EarthCheck, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism, to deliver clean, safe, prosperous and healthy destinations for travellers to visit, live, work and play. Till now, there are 13 Niccolo Hotels and Marco Polo Hotels are EarthCheck certified.
