Marco Polo Renews Davao, Philippines Management Contract

Marco Polo Hotels has extended its management contract for another 5 years after 10 years of success in operating the Marco Polo Davao, Philippines; the city’s first international standard hotel. A signing ceremony was held today in Hong Kong and attended by the senior management of Marco Polo Hotels and Halifax Davao Hotel, Limited, the owning company of the hotel.

“We have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the Marco Polo Davao since its opening 10 years ago. We are most pleased to be continuing our long-term relationship with our partners Halifax Davao Hotel, Limited.” said Steve Kleinschmidt, President of Marco Polo Hotels.

“We are delighted to be extending the management contract with Marco Polo Hotels. Marco Polo Davao has 245 guest rooms and suites and is situated in southern Philippines in the heart of the city’s business and commercial district. Only 20 minutes drive from Davao International Airport, the hotel overlooks the Bay of Davao and is the tallest building in Davao, giving it a landmark status. The hotel was named Marco Polo’s Hotel of the Year in 2008 and the award was presented during the gala dinner at the Marco Polo Marketing Conference. This prestigious award is recognition of the hotel achieving the highest standards of service excellence in all aspects at hotel operation.
