The Marco Polo hotels in the Philippines walked away with several prestigious awards during the 2016 Chief Business Managers Conference earlier this year. The annual event followed the theme: “Engage, Empower & Energise to Excel” and was attended by the General Managers or Chief Business Managers from all 14 Marco Polo and Niccolo hotels.
The Philippine cluster was proud to take home several awards for their respective hotels: Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, the newest Philippines property led by its GM Frank Reichenbach, won the Spirit of Marco Polo 2015 Best Guest Experience Award. Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, represented by its GM Julie Najar, was awarded Restaurant, Bars & Events (RB&E) Best Performance for 2015 as well as Associate of the Year for its Director of Banquet Sales, Ms. Tess Catipay.
Mr. Reichenbach of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila shared his thoughts on the significance of the award: “It was truly an honour to receive the prestigious award within the Marco Polo Hotels Group, and this wouldn’t be made possible if not for each and every one of my teammates. We worked one by one as a team to be recognised in the international scene. I would like to thank them sincerely for being true professionals and for being inspirational. We are a great team, and I am very thankful to be part of it. This successful outcome is the result of all hard work and dedication. We will surely continue to deliver exceptional service to our guests and exceed their expectations.”
“This award is another feather in our cap and I am glad to get this because I know that our Restaurants, Bars & Events team have been working very hard to consistently give our guests an excellent dining experience,” said Ms. Najar of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. “Of course we shall not rest on our laurels but continue to innovate and come up with meaningful offers and events.”
Marco Polo Davao, successfully led by its General Manager Ms. Dottie V. Würgler-Cronin, won the prestigious 2015 Hotel of the Year Bold Leadership Award, which is the highest recognition given to a property.
“Last year was a challenging yet fruitful year for our hotel,” said Ms. Wurgler-Cronin. “Receiving this award truly means a lot to us, as we have all exerted our best efforts to retain our position as the best hotel in Mindanao. This will truly inspire our team to continue to aspire for excellence this year.”
