Anping Bridge spans the bay between Anhai Town in Jinjiang and Shuitou Town in Nan’an. Built during the Southern Song dynasty and completed after fourteen years, it is also known as the “Five-Li Bridge” for its approximate five-li length.
Overlooking the vital route between Quanzhou and the southern coast, it was an important node in the land-and-water transport network shaped by Song and Yuan maritime trade. For more than 800 years, the stone bridge has weathered the elements and witnessed the prosperity of Quanzhou Port.
