The green dome rising at the intersection of Poyang Street and Tianjin Road is the sole remaining Orthodox church in Wuhan. Constructed in 1885 in the Byzantine style, the building forms a distinctive skyline with its eye-catching "onion" dome, red-brick walls, and octagonal drum tower. Traces of faded icon frescoes, cast-iron ornate railings, and arched window lattices bear witness to the prosperity of the Russian tea trade era and embody Wuhan's openness to foreign cultures as a modern treaty port.
